hey everyone, im looking into getting a project car either this summer or next, and i came across the 1990-style toyota supra. its the mkIII i think? but i was wondering how fast it is in stock form? and how fast can u make the n/a model as compared to the turbo model? where can i look to get parts for this year supra? what kinds of problems do they have? i have a lot of questions so pretty much any info u can give me on this car would be a great help.

MK3 supras are from 86.5 to 92'.. In stock form, compared to todays standards, its 0-60 and 1/4m times are pretty slow.. Especially the n/a..
Ive seen turbo's do 0-60 in the late 14 second range.. They are rated at 15.6 seconds, with a 6.6second 0-60..
The n/a model is pretty limited to the power it can make w/o forced induction or NOS, Or a lot of $$$.. Turbo is a much better platform to start from..
As for parts, problems, anything else.. There are quite a few large forums (supraforums.com supramania.com etc.) that can have you reading for days on these cars..

cool thnx, yeah those sites will help and ill definetly check them out. i hope u meant that uve seen the turbos do the quarter in late 14 second range, not 0-60 right? and u say the N/A platform isnt good for a n/a setup? i was hoping to actually go that way since i really like the idea of havinga quick n/a car, but if its pointless i have no beef with sticking with the turbo setup.

0-60 in 14 seconds? Thats one fucked up supra. lol.
I would suggest the MkIII supra as a good project car. As far as comparing them to nowanday cars theyre better than an integra, even to a monte carlo, and slower than a ...ummm, something. Thats just the N/A model.
