ive seen similar problems in this forum. I get airflow from me vents but no heat. If i shut the car off and start it again i get heat for a short period of time but then it goes cold again...also my temp control gauge flashes... there was mention of an air mix actuator. Im not a mechanic and when i call the parts place they want to know if its the; air inlet actuator or the temp valve actuator that i am looking for... any help on which one it might be? Thanx...

It sounds like you need the temp valve actuator. My invoice from the dealer just says 16141822...actuator. No real help there. The inlet valve is directly behind the blower motor on the inside of the car and allows air from the blower to enter the HVAC box. The replacement of the temp actuator usually requires removal of the dash. Since this is not a simple job, you may want to go to a dealer to get the ECC scanned for codes to ensure that this is definately the problem.
When I bought my replacement, the dealer needed the last 6 digits of the VIN because there were two possibilities. The above part number might not be the same for your car.
TIP: I paid $58.94 at the dealer for mine because I needed it right away. If you can wait a couple of days and order it from www.gmpartsdirect.com, you'll save some $$$$
