Greetings, i'am a noob to this forum.

I have a i've gottn my self a doge stealth. With problems.
The thing is the 6 cilinder engine is just working on 4 cilinders.
the #3 and #6 cilinder arnt getting any sparks. (yes there are sparkplugs in it) :P

We changed the coils, the ECU and the PTU(power transistor unit)
ive brought it to the Local Mitsubishi dealer, knowing there's a Mitsubishi DHOC engine in it. But they check and cant find the problem.
They and my self have no clue what to do now. I realy like the car and i realy want it to be fixed.

Does any one has any sugestions? or might know what the problem could be?

Damn man, and welcome. You've got quite a problem, I don't know what would cause that. If no one here can solve it then you can try the 3SI.org forums, there are a lot more people there so you'd be more likely to have it solved there.

how about the wires? have ya changed those yet?

Distributor? Lol it'd be funny if the wires were just switched between the two.

that's definitely a possibility. but if that were the case he would still get spark, it would just out of time. but who knows

How does one tell if they're getting spark?

good question. not sure. i guess if you suspected that u were getting no spark, then you could pull the plug then reattach the wire, turn the car on and see if there's a spark emitted from the plug. seems like easiest way to me. i'm there are other ways tho.

HAHA! i bet your buddy said, "wow, shiny thing!" then he touched the spark. haha, i wish i coulda seen that.

tho i recently electrocuted myself when i was cleaning a lamp.........so i figured the reason it wouldn't come on is b/c there was a bunch of crap in the bulb socket. so i took it apart and started to scrap this crap out (dirt and such). then i sorta touched the metal and YOWZER!!!!!!!!!!. well i failed to unplug to lamp from the wall.....genius! but what a rush it was! hahaha!

i dont know, but dont think that little spark from that plug is weak...its not. it hospitalized him, ill tell you that its that strong. i dont remember exactly how he did it but he had a wratchet in his hand and the plug attached to the other hand. i thought it was pretty funny when i heard the story. i think he dropped the plug on the wrench or something like that...

but what a rush it was! hahaha!

yeah a rush but you probably just fried about 10,000 brain cells

HA! don't worry, i'm not that stupid. when it comes to electricity, i'm pretty conservative and cautious...except that one time, haha.

I like to plug a string of x-mass lights in halfway and stick my fingers in lol, but that way I don't get much of the current. Damn I kinda miss taking physics, now I want to see how much current I take haha. Don't try doing that with anything that can turn off when plluged in though!!

i took physics in college...some cool stuff but the not cool stuff is hard to learn. oh well...i liked chemistry in college but i had a really hott teacher so i dont know if i liked chemistry or i just liked that particular class. so i guess it worked...or i guess i made it work. :D by far the easiest teacher to look at, i have ever seen. i dont think i ever skipped that class and i loved staying after for some one on one action..errr..i mean "learning". :naughty: gosh, i miss that class. so many memories...

It hurts alot more if you do it with your tongue (Don't you love how alcohol can make even the dumbest suggestion seem like a good idea)

Damn, you only went 5 days and passed with a B+??? Geez, genius man....Gen. Chem. kills here. My gf's dying in Physics....and I hated Physics so much here that I can't even remember anything to help her. :(

Yea I went to the first two days and the rest was for tests. To be fair I did like chem in high school and it was mostly the same stuff... plus there were these take home tests and everyone on my floor was taking the class hehe. I think the labs were worth a lot and I did well there.

when it comes down to it, everything can be explained in terms of physics. so that's the one to go with. chem is alright, until you get to Organic chem...then it gets really boring. i've always found Physics interesting. i'll get a minor in Physics then look to get a bachelor's in mechanical engineering. that's the good stuff right there.

jesuzz, dint know my first thread would be so "colourfull"
was expecting FLAMES, YOU NOOB etcc
anyways, my dealer checked the wires etc they say they cant find anything wrong with the electrical. They gave up on the doge.

thnks 4 the first few good ontopic replays :D the rest..... :P

Ive followed the advice 2 ask on 3Si, forum but...... damn i just cant seem to register over there. Duno if iam doing something wrong :S
but it says email's blocked

You can't use a free email account, like hotmail or yahoo, so if you have an email account with your service provider...like aol or whatnot, that will work.

Did they do a compression test? Don't know if that'll help any, but since the dealership is being lazy, might as well try.

it has to be electrical if the plugs are not getting an "electrical" spark...tell them to get off their a** and work for a change. sorry, i usually cant stand most dealership mechanics...they all seem very lazy, and they just say things to make you leave so they dont have to work alot fo times.
