Taylor Thundervolt wires drops MPG?????

Just wondering what might be happening..... I installed the Taylor Thundervolt 50 ignition wire set and my mpg dropped almost 2 mpg. Checked all connections at least 4 times now. Checked mileage about a dozen times (tankfuls). Same gas....same driving habits. Does seem a little smoother running...... figured that's a good thing.

Before I bought them I called Taylor to get the right part number and the tech I talked to just happen to have a story to tell. Seems his nephew also has a Silverado with a 5.3 and he just changed his wires.. compliments of Taylor of course.

Anyways..... the Thundervolt 50's are rated at a resistance of 50 ohms per foot. And as you all know, the ignition wires aren't even a foot long. So this tech tells me how he took one of his nephews' wires into the shop and tested the resistance on it......... over 3000 ohm!! And that's not per foot...... that's per wire!! Measure them yourself...... only about 5 inches of wire ..... with a boot on each end it's still less than a foot.

Something's not quite right. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas??

What is the normal resistance the AC Delco wires have? I never thought to check it when I bought the Bosch wires, then again I have been a victim of advertising more than once in my life...

Two mpg. is a awful lot to lose with gas prices in the 2.00 range.
I would put the old ones back on.
