Hello. Ive had a 2000 Silverado for about 4 months now and the lights behind the dash are starting to go out. Mainly the radio and heater/ac controls. How hard is it to replace these bulbs with or without using LEDS. Are there any fixes or anything to quiet the oh so common piston slap that these trucks have. Lastly are there any problem areas I should look out for on these trucks. Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

It's pretty easy replacing the bulbs on the ac/heater control. Just a little soldering to do..... they don't just unplug. I'd definitely recommed you use LEDs' with a resistor. Size 3mm is what I used..... just had to bend the leads around a little bit so the bulb was in the right position.

You'll also have to test for the positive side of the board where you disconnect the original bulb. If you do go this route, pick a color you like to give it that customized look. I used blue and everybody loves it.

One last note..... don't get the brightest bulb you find because they'll seem to be too bright. Maybe something around 3000 mcd should do.

The head unit..... I have no experience. Replaced mine with an Eclipse years ago. Good luck!
