99 Suburban Totally Dead

Got in my Sub today and it is totally dead. No interior lights, doesn't turn over... nothing. I put in a new battery 2 years ago, but I guess that could be the problem. It's never had a problem charging the battery in the past. We've all had the flu, so I haven't been able to get under the hood yet. If it's not the battery, then what? Any suggestions.

probably the battery or the connections... don't know what else it could be if nothing has power

I just fixed the exact same problem. 99 Suburbans are notorious for loose GROUND cable connections to battery and the block. Tighten em up and away you go!

Problem solved. It was the P.O.S. GM positive battery connectors. There are actually two connectors stacked one on another. It was a little loose and badly corroded. Once removed, I pulled the stacked connectors apart and peeled back the red insulating cover to expose the flat connector. A wire brush and some dielectric grease and they're as good as new. Put it back together and charged the battery. All is well again and it didn't cost me a dime. Thanks for your input... I should have known that was the problem. My wife's 2000 Pontiac Montana had that same issue about 1.5 years ago. :naughty:
