Power please read

I am going to be putting in, a in-dash dvd player with the lcd screen, 2 head rest monitors, alarm system, and HID is this going to be to much power for my car? Let me know its a 1997 blazer ... if anyone know of a real good alarm system let me know one that would go off if someone touched or smashed the window to my car

You should be ok for power.

Any good alrm will do if it has the glass sensor installed.

OKay thanks because people around here who ever has the tv break the windows and just go in and take the stero.. Any idea i am buy a 1997 2 door blazer with the back windows.. the small push out window.. do they make locks for them?

Ok thanks, hey with those headlight cover you have do they affect the lighting ? I am looking for the very light tinted headlight cover.

I only use them while in the city at night seeing it has street lights.

I take them off when I am going out of the city when it is dark.

Autopage or Clifford are probably the best alarms I know of. If you are like me and would be quick to run outside when your alarm goes off, you might want to consider Autopage. There is a little "pager" that goes on your key chain and if your alarm goes off, it will page you and the display will show you which sensor was triggered! For instance, the back window gets busted out, the pager alerts you and then the rear window will flash.
If you plan on doing all this work yourself, plan everything out first. Scetch out where you will place all the components and a basic wiring diagram so you only run so much wiring. For instance, with the right gauge wiring, the dvd player, tvs, and the alarm can run off the same power wire (if done properly) on thier own circuit.

If you take it somewhere, make sure you trust the one doing the install. Everything I had added on, I had to go back and rewire it properly (no problems since!). Not to metion the alarm guys simply cut my wires, twisted them together and wrapped electrical tape around it. I went back and solder everthing, found out they had cut my ignition wire TWICE, on both sides of the convenience center! Not too convenient for me.

Ok. I am looking into buying either the fake hid the extra white light or the real HID... i know with the hid i am going to be spending alot and i have to buy a kit so i dont burn out my wires. Did you ever see a car with just the white lights? how do they look? r they safe?

Another option that's been discussed recently on the other boards is to install a steal cable attached from the body to the casing of the head unit. (A couple of people on www.s10forum.com and www.blazinlow.com have done this). While it certainly isn't fool proof it's an option . Between a blaring alarm and the time to get that out, it will add time for you to get to your truck. Look at either the Viper or Audiovox Prestiege alarms with the remote pager (a pager is built into the remote that will be paged if the alarm goes off)...

I had real HID in my truck, and now I have retrofitted projectors from a 2000 Audi S4 into my headlights. Putting just a kit in our trucks will prove to be undesirable in many ways, mainly glare toward oncoming drivers. If you do end up getting a kit, get a genuine kit with either hella or philips ballasts and either philips or osram bulbs. Also, your going to need a wiring harness, because on start up, HID's pull 27,000v and will severly damage your OEM harness.

You are referring to perimeter protection. They use radar waves to a preset circumference. I had one in my old Beretta and it was very useful. I currently have that as one of the options on my motorcycle. The perimeter is set up so that if anything comes within 1.5 feet of the bike, the alarm sends out a warning chirp and if it persists for more than 3 seconds the alarm is triggered and I receive a page.

any idea of what wrong here? Around my back right window, Its the trim around the window but hard hard plastic, thick... It discolored and rough the other side is smooth and has no discoloration.. any ideas of how to fix?

With respect to your trim, its from sunfade. The trim on these trucks around the windows does not hold up well in direct sunlight and it worsens on those that have been waxed on a regular basis as it removes a small layer of the clear coat each time. You can try painting the trim, but my dealer said they usually end up replacing the trim.
