How to remove center arm rest 2000 EXPLorer

Dear Friend,
The top of my center console arm rest was torn off. It left me with a piece of metal/plastic with a pin in it. Does anyone know how to get the pin out.It seems to have plastic molded over one side of the pin so I don't think it can be driven out. This is in a 2000 Explorer Sport.
