Eclipse Gst Killed a Ford Taurus

Aight i was racing a friend who wanted to race me since along time so he fallowed me to where we can race so i went under a bridge where there was a staright shot and thats where we were going to race. So the green he drove his regular all :screwy: stock ford taurus and i drove my eclipse gst turbo charged. He beat me at the take off but at the long thats where it all ended as i cought and passed him by like about 6 cars :loser: was it that good of a kill or no i wonder :evillol:

whoa first of all I have a 91 taurus with the 3.0 V6!! it cannot be beaten by a stupid 4 banger! with a stupid turbo...theres no way, the taurus makes 100hp per liter my uncle works at ford and he said so. the only thing that can beat the taurus is an SHO or a mustang V8!! noobs!

i raced my old taurus once...against a non-turbo laser; and he beat me. In my defense I had just turned 16 and I was stupid.

one time I raced a FWD TSi with an upgraded IC and exhaust with my Taurus on a track. He only ran a 15.0 to my 15.7, he couldn't drive though, his friend jumped in and was able to run 14.4's with it.

(A littel off topic but, aren't 2gen SHO's faster then the 1st gen? the V8 ones)

1g (89-91) and 2g (92-95) SHO's had the same engine, the 1G's were a little faster since they had less safety equipment and luxury crap. Also every 1G was a manual. the third Gen SHO ('96-'99) was the V8 and auto-only, it was a tad bit slower than a well driven 1G or 2G Manual, if they would've managed to keep its weight down though it probably would've been as fast or faster though.

3/4G Duratec 15.9-16.1

Thanks for the info, My grandpa had a 3rd gen one I guess, I only thaught there were 2 gens...The v8 and v6...Anyways, he had teh v8, pretty fast for a family car!

Well the old Taurus SHO's were pretty quick. A run of the mill taurus is a joke though. I think the main problem people have with your post, author, is posting about beating a weak car.

Taurus's are just beasts. Personally, I think they should do away with teh V6 mustang for good although it is still a nice car and all, the V8's are the stars. The engineering feat achieved at the production of the ford taurus will never be surpassed. Its just that simple.

I agree, i know several people with 1st gen SHO's and trust me, they have something going for them (except reliability and build quality).

Whats a 3.0L Taurus got 200HP??. Sounds Ballsey but then you have to factor in the weight factor and the fact that Taurus'es are designed for getting groceries and getting sweet felacio in the backseat(Station Wagon model only)...
