Painted Pedals

I learned lots about this. I learned when, how, what and all that about painting pedals.

I give you all a quick rundown on it. If you want to try it.

First thing is wait until a nice cold, dry day to do it. The humidity and heat screws with the timing. The dead pedal can be removed from the floorboard by two bolts. Take this out, and remove the rubber pad from the brake pedal. (I don't have a clutch, you decide on that) and the gas pedal you just have to leave in there. Get a paint craft pen of the color of your choice. They cost about two or three bucks depending on what kind you get. I got red. Get some armorall, a clean rag or two, a sheet of paper, and some touch up paint in a color to match the paint pen you got. wipe down the pedals with a wet cloth and dry. when completely dry, use the paper to get the pen flowing, and apply the paint pen to the pedals, in any design you wish. I suggest painting the parts that stick out, as opposed to diped in, as they are easier. (however, if you can and like the look, painting the indented portions will make the paint last forever, instead of just kinda long).

Once the pen stuff drys (about 10 minutes), you can apply the touch up paint to the paint from the paint pen. I did two coats, but you can do as many as you like. Let this set for a hour or so between coats and two hours after you are all done. AFTER all this, and the stuff is bone dry, armorall them so the black sines through. Also helps to protect the paint. Wipe thoroughly. (didn't try waxing them, might help). Now you can put the flap back on the brake, and bolt the dead pedal back on. The gas pedal is tricky, but not too hard.

Mine look great still, just the brake pedal got screwed up because I didn't do it right the first time. I scraped the old paint off, sanded it, and did it right. Looks tons cleaner.

Maybe I'm off my rocker, but I don't ever remember getting one compliment about my car from anyone on this forum. ok, 2 guys said my pedals were good for DIY. Man, people at school raise their opinion of me when they see my car. They wanna ride in it. They compliment me up and down on it. Here, its like, yeah your car isn't up to where mine is. Yet I keep coming here. I guess I just like learning new things. I don't have alot of money, but I think that someday, I might be able to have a cool car. Maybe.

didnt someone else paint his peddles in this forum? i vividly remember it, and people asking about wear, etc.....strangely, i dont remember people giving him shit about it..i say go with it..if YOU like it, props. you did something you like - thats more than a lot of people can say.
on the other hand, weather 95civic was feelin them or not, who gives a fuck? props on the DIY. glad the kids @ school give you respect, hell i didnt even have a car in highschool.

I love my automatic, cuz I'm a lazy SOB and I don't want to have to shift when I'm trying to eat, drive, talk, and keep all the hicks around me from stamping GMC into my door.

lol, I am true to myself and my tastes, and truely I don't care if you hate it or not. but compliments are nice every now and then....

People usually give compliments when theres something to give compliments on. But when you have a supra wing and cheap looking pedals, things that people don't view that highly of, don't expect many nice things to be said. And if you say you're too lazy to drive an automatic because you can't eat and do other shit, well damn, get your ass off the road then.

And people in high school are usually morons who are easy to please. They are very uneducated when it comes to cars. Things like stickers and chrome rims attract their attention, and they think it's the coolest thing. Trust me, its a phase. Everybody goes through it. You'll learn to look past stupid shit like bulbs and stickers and concentrate on larger, more important car mods.

4) What's all this shit about me being in high school? Who ever said I was an undergraduate? I have about two months to go before I am a Junior in College!! Taking the exam in April. I am 19 yrs old, read my profile.
5) Phase, ha ha! I fart in thine general direction. I have no love for bulbs or stickers. Only bulbs on my car are OEM and only sticker says "Civic EX" and that came with the car! :finger: I was only kidding about the racing stripes and Mugen stickers, although my bro. wants me to get the stripes :rolleyes:
6) I am much more mature than you seem to think. I just happen to like the big spoilers. Not gigantic ones, just high ones like mine. And the pedals are cheap, but cheap is good, when money is low.
7) I respect you CivicEX95, but I don't agree with your tastes. So I guess we have something in common :)

And if you ALL think my car sucks like he does, then you obviously don't understand me! (Which is ok, cuz I don't understand those of you who like sleepers. Its a crappy looking car with power you can only use illegally, unless you fork over a bunch of cash for permission to go on a track, which all but doesn't exist here where I live).
