Accord Overheats Unless A/c On

My 94' Honda Accord will overheat in idle if I don't have the A/C on. I can actually lower the temp by flipping on outside air (without A/C button pressed) and turning the knob to heat. But the easiest way to cool it down is just to turn the A/C button on. the A/C can be on hot or cold, doesn't matter.
Any ideas?

Because the other thread was about a fan malfunction. I don't know if I have a malfunctioning fan.

If it overheats at idle, and cools down as you drive, your main fan or it's relay have gone bad. The aux radiator fan for the A/C system is the only one working.

Thermostat may be broken and doesnt open at the right temperature. Cheap part and easy to replace.
