the best way to remove any residua pressure is to remove the fuel pump relay and start the car until it dies this will get rid of any pressure in the lines and you'll be able to swap your filter. as to how much to expect it shoudn't be too much just a few ounces

Dont worry about nothing happening. I only got a small puff when I did mine. Its OK. You might get an ounce of fuel leak when you disconnect the line from the filter. Just have a container under there with you. And you may need to really crank on the fitting to get it off. Mine had some rust on it and I needed to hold one side with vice grips while loosening the other side of the fitting.

Easy way to do it is, remove the fuel pump fuse, start the car. When it dies you can then remove the filter.Dont for get to replace the fuse when finished
