Bought her for $2,000.00 at a dealership. Needs hood and hatch struts, a few spots of surface rust, a few dings, and a cracked dash pad, but otherwise shes perfect.

2,000 bucks is way to much for a 174,000 mile car with only a V6...... Ive seen V8 thirdgens cheaper and with less mileage then that.. I think you got ripped off... It looks really clean tho, but still isnt worth 2 grand... Anyways good luck

I personally really like it and love the color. If the car is a good running car I would have to disagree with it not being worth 2k. Who knows how many things have been replaced at that type of mileage. The second owner might have put a new engine in or replace the tranny. The whole car could possibly have been redone you never know but as long as it drives solid and starts up fine I wouldn't say you got ripped off. but just my .02

the little I've driven it (still learning to drive a stick lol) she has alot of power, and is a very solid car. Before I bought her, I crawled up under, checked the frame and floor panels, and shes rust free (by rust free I mean holes or bubbles etc, not surface rust). The gas tank has good pressure, the body is very clean, just surface rust (a few spots) on the roof and a hole on the a piller on the passenger side. There is alot of room under the hood for a V8 later down the road.
I don't feel that I got ripped off?

i think u did.. JMO.. Im a 3rd gen Nut and ive seen soo many better deals with V8 TPIs that are lower mileage and clean and were cheaper... V6 only came with 140hp, but the 5 speed aint bad :naughty:

Congrats on your beautiful bird,2 G's is high but not ridiculous .Like John said, the previous owners prob put a lot of money in the engine and suspension hopefully and took good care of the int/ext.So if it makes you happy thats what counts. And a v6 isnt so bad with the gas prices nowadays.I got my 82 s/edo you have int. pics?http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/266650im000691-med.jpg for 500 $

$2000 is about blue book...just what I would expect from a dealership. It also implies that it is in near perfect condition...which for the most part, miles and age wise, it is. The V6 is great with gas the way it is and those V8's almost 100% of the time were beaten on their whole life. There's a good chance that engine was not. I think you did alright.

I will get interier pics tomorrow. The only thing wrong with the interier is the dash pad is cracked up from the sun.
The engine is strong, the 5-spd is smooth.
I'm thinking about possibly painting her in the future (not near future)
BTW yes the lights go up and down :D

I was wondering if this car had an airbag? I wouldn't have thought so til I looked at the steering wheel. It is as big as any of these new cars wheels.
/edit: Also today we replaced the thermestat (sp), fan senser (both on the intake), and now she idles smooth and constent, and she actually heats up (the car would NOT go above 100 degrees) and the fan comes on at about 200 degrees, just like it should.
Right now The front headlight grinds when its going up and down, so im assuming its the gear inside?

Sounds like the headlight motor is going out.$2k isnt too bad of a deal for a used 92 t/a in good condition. Most cars for that price are in worse condition.Looks like you found one with a straight body as long as the interior is workable at all you fell upon a great deal.

Nice car. It sounds as if it's in good shape. Not a bad price in my opinion.

With the new thermostat and fan senser, she runs perfect.
Alot of money was put into the car by the previous owner. She has a new air conditioner (converted to the new shit), new alternator, new heater, and a new cat.
The only thing that needs to happen right now is a new exhast from the CAT back, about $290.
