On the o2 housing and right after the cat.

there are 2 o2 sensors. on before the cat (or lack of in your case ) the second is after the cat. im not sure exactly where on a 2g but if you want to get rid of the cat code you have, then this is the o2 sensor you need to "fix"

well i need to install my af gauge and there should be a relay on my ecu, just need to kno where to do it and maybe find a step by step

If I get around to it this weekend I can tell ya the wires you need to splice off of from the wire harness/ecu

Are you sure you want it? It really has NO use.... just has led's that bounce back n forth... I plan on swapping it out with something usefull like coolant temp or fuel pressure or whatever...

yea, at the moment i dont have anyother gauges

Who cares if you have any other gauges? They are 100% useless, don't use it. What was said above is correct... tap the ECU signal, not a wire that's 6,000 degrees, you probably don't have the right non-melting wire/sleeve like the stock o2 sensor uses. The front (gauge) o2 sensor is in the o2 housing (imagine that) right between the turbo and the downpipe. The second one is for emissions and is near the cat, and very easy to find.

actually its incorrect because both those links are for a 1g, i have a 2g.
second i do have the heat sleeve, its sitting in the box
i kno to connect it to my ecu and thats what im trying to do if i can find the right person to tell me where it is, thankyou

Both www.vfaq.com and www.roadraceengineering.com should have instructions for this. If nothing else, the vfaq has an ECU pinout, use the wire for the front o2 signal. Take the ground from the ECU's sensor ground, or there will be a voltage offset making the guage less acurate. Now, the info you get from the sensor is not very useful, so gauge accuracy isnt a big deal anyway. ;)

And just for the record, the guages are very accurate at displaying voltage for the most part, its the narrowband sensor that is useless.

Isn't our O2 sensor a wide band? and the guage a narrow band? That's what i've heard and explaines why it just bounces ALL around......

Nope. Stock sensors are both 0-1 volt. Thats why many poeple just use a voltmeter to read it, and even the ECU does the same, and you always hear about the 1 volt limit. Common WOT ranges are in the .90s.

A wideband sensor like I use on the 2g is 0-5 volts. Much higher resolution, and its also meant for full range measurement, not for simply siwtching between too rich and too lean (hence the reason the O2 trace "cycles").

where can you buy a wideband and what do you need to do to the ecu for it to be able to read it right? im guessing that since it goes from 0-5 instead of 0-1 that the ECU wont like it.

Do a yahoo search, there are a ton of kits. AEM, Alamo motorsports, there is even a DIY wideband kit. :2cents:

Zeitronix (spelling?) and Technomotive are the two most popular and most used brands of wideband o2's for our cars. Just thought I'd throw that in ;)

I think the Techedge kit (www.wbo2.com) has to be one of the most popular as well. In fact a few dozen locals did a group buy on them last year. There are at least a half a dozen kits out now though that have huge amounts of info out there for use with DSMs.

Logging WBO2 in DSMlink is the only way to go, I dont know how I ever got along without it :)

damnit i took the entire center console out looked all under the radio and still cant find the ecu nor the o2 sensor.. Is it in a different location on an eagle talon?

Thread jacking now are we?

This entire thread is about finding the o2 sensor, I am also looking for the o2 sensor. If you would like me to start a completely new thread based on the exact same thing as this then i will? But it seems that people also get flamed and yelled at when they post topics that already exist. I suppose I just can't win.

This was my mistake. I didn't take the time to figure out you were n/t. Read this: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=320755&highlight=ecu

Grip666, his question is directly related to the thread, I wouldnt consider it hijacking.
