so what are the physical differences between the SVT Focus Zetec and the Escort ZX2 Zetec? Im planning on dropping in a ZX2 engine and tranny into my 95 LX and was wondering if it was possible to adapt the SVT engine to mate to a ZX2 transmission, get the mounts to align.....and whatever else wouold be needed. or would it be possible to rebuild the ZX2 engine with SVT Focus parts? would that not be the shiznit to roll up next to a focus in an escort and smoke the hell out of it with ease?

The SVT has a special intake manifold, stock header and a special head. But the Focus platform is not the same as the Zx2/Escort. All the P/S, alternator, A/C and brakets and hose's are all different.
The Zx2 Zetec to 2nd gen Escort is a straight forward swap, by adding SVT parts into the mix you just took a simple swap and made it much more complacated.
For the price of a SVT motor, you could be off to a good start with turboing a regular Zetec. A turbo'd Zetec Escort will beat the snot out of a N/A SVT Focus.
