I found a 84 Mustang LX for sale. Orig. it came with the V6 motor in it. He got a 302 V8 out of the junkyard from a pickup and put it in there now.
New parts:
Thicker all metal radiotor for H.O. mustang
Radiator fan
Altanator
Starter
battery
heads
H.O. mustang 5.0 cam
dubble barr. carb.
pulleys all look new also
It kept dieing when idleing. So he put I fuel pressure regulator on it while I was there and it started idleing at about 1.5k, but when put it into drive and let idle it would die. Maybe timing off? Anyways he was asking $1500 for it, but said he would take $1200. Does this sound like a good deal.

Offer him $800 and then if he accepts...congratulations. You now have a project car.

yeah shit man thats a good deal...but fix that baby up and you got a pretty good project car....Not a big fan of carb'd engines but if its already got upgrades to it, it should be one powerful mother f'er
and plus you can have fun in the sun while your going 100+...thats gotta be an experience

It's not really a good deal unless he takes your $800 offer. It sounds like it needs alot of work.

Automatic???...unless you plan on swapping it out for a 5-speed or buying a shift kit.... dont get it.But hey its your decision and fox-bodies are excellent project cars

I am really torn on it. The top alone cost $900 because its a custom top with larger back window. He has the reciept for this. Also the motor looks good....so I really don't know. I just dislike autos alot.

Well let me ask you this. How much is the car worth to you? I personally would buy this car for $800 because one, I don't like convertibles, two I don't like automatics, three I don't like the way those pre-87s look, and four it sounds like a project to me and not a reliable car. I'm assuming the motor is from an 80s F150. If it's worth $1200 to you...tell him you'll give him $1000.
