Gauge Cluster Light

I was wondering if there is any way to remove the light(s) which light up the gauge cluster area... Talking about the lights that end up lighting the area up, I just wanna see the speedometer and tach and so on, dont want that light. Any Ideas? Even just how to take off that clear part so i can tape it up or sumthing? thx ahead of time... :)

Got to remove the whole instrument cluster. The lights are mounted to the board at the back side. There are threads on this site that tell you how.
