Welcome to the forum and the gas mileage difference between 3.42's and 3.73's will not be anything major maybe 1-2 MPG in worst case. I hope we can all help you and if there is anything I can do let me know.

i would imagine that he is referring to the question about what else to get for the body.
what are you looking for? something like a body kit? are you talking like decals or something? or are you talkin in terms of paint jobs or something?

i don't have any questions i just want more of ideas for what to do to it what i really want is to get it fast enough just to beat my brother his got a 94 mustang gt but his put alot of money in to it so yah i figured some of u guys would have some good idea of what to do to it and about the gears so if either ones not that big of a differnce for gas mileage are the any different for acceleration
sorry for not making that all clear

sall good. the higher gear will accelerate faster, but the higher the gear the lower the top speed. i put 3.42s on my car and didnt notice a difference in mileage but there was a slight difference in acceleration. if you're lookin to take down a suped up GT i would suggest the 3.73s. you'll see a much greater effect than with the 3.42s

Nice looking car man. Nice indeed. You have a larger then stock cam and a motor bored to a 355, so I personally would try a slightly bigger carb. A 650 will work, but something along the lines of a 750 would suit you better (its what I had on mny 355). My personal gear of choice is a 3.55 for an automatic, and most people will agree that is one of the better "all around" gears. If you don't have them, headers are always a good idea for power. If you get all that taken care of, some headwork is always a good idea. This should be enough to get you started..

PS: How good of a mechanic is your brother? If he isn't that great, switch a few plug wires around on his car before you race.. most people don't know the firing order on their car and he will be tapping his head for hours :icon16: :icon16: .
Not really.. but seriosuly.

Dependswhat kind of money you are putting in to it like 100-200 a month or saving up couple grand?
Cheaper upgrades: Bigger Carb, Full Length Headers (Not sure ify ou have' em or not), 3"+ exhaust, gutted cat. Wider tires & carry some slicks in your trunk if you can if you are serious about doing some good runs. Rear end differentials. Getting metal cables and stripping out AC etc if you arn't using it.
More expensive: Nos, Super charger or Turbo charger. :) Lots of dough but lots of results. Getting it bored out and making it a stroker.

it means spend while you can.
i put a moser 12-bolt in my car and it was a piece of cake. the only problem you might run into is the driveshaft. im goin through this mess right now cause the stocker isnt compatible. you can completely customize the axle you get from em and it comes ready to install. really the only down side is the price. theyre an easy two grand, basic. my ended up bein aroun 2600, before the 500 dollar shaft...
