BMW service suck's

Went to BMW dealer for service because check engine light came on the car is there 3 days now and they don't know what's wrong with the car how F****D UP is that ?

I'd say bad mechanic. The alternator started go on mine with and intermittent check light on, as the alternator is putting out too much juice, rather than not enough. When it spikes, the check light comes on.

I agree. I went to my local BMW dealer just to wait for a simple oil filter for almost an hour. I'll never go there again. I go to the one that's about 15 extra mins away. Usually, you can bring your BMW to a BMW specialist and they do it for the fraction of the cost. Or you can do it yourself :) Usually, a seasoned BMW mechanic has seen your problem before and knows what the problem is, I'd say he is new to the job.

You do realize that the second you give them the keys to your car they dont jump right on it. They are working on other cars so when they get a chanch they do the work on your car. Even if your a waiter mechanics still finish up or 1/2 finish what there doing b4 they get to you.


And sometimes a check engine light cant turn into one of the most complex things you can think of. Theres many reasons for the light to come on, the mechanic has to go through each one till the problem is fixed. Or the dealer could just be totaly booked and they havent gotten to your car yet because there are people ahead of you. If you have pacience and not flip out over a 3day stay your get your car back faster. Becuase when you complain to the service writer, he complains to the mechanic, then the mechanic is thinking "screw this guy go somewhere else" so he'll do an even worse job and go slower.
