Sigh.

The lamest new Ferrari in decades and it's kitted. Even before the C6 and Mustang. WTF is going on? :screwy:

The 550/575 Maranello...still ignored. :banghead:

Sigh.

Ah well, be happy about it, it's a new car, a new kit and looking like a supergood one too.
I agree on the questionable styling, but hey, the car itself is a great performance machine. I guess the same could be said about the buttugly bugeye subaru, but it's a supercool car...

always, IMHO.

I m superhappy anyway

I liked it more in the flesh, pictures don't show it's best aspects I don't think. By all accounts it drives well, I've not seen a band road test yet.

I won't complain about any new 1/24 kit of a ferrari... it's not like we get spoilt for choice!

I've seen it in the flesh at The Collection dealership in Coral Gables, at the Cavallino Classic Ferrari concours in Palm Beach, and on the road in Miami. It looks far better in medium to darker colors, like red, blue and black. Silver is not a good color on this car. Rosso Fioriano or the blue that Revell displays are good colors. In person, the car is gigantic.

Okay, I'll get one and 'fix it up' to my specs.
Doesnt that guy know how to paint??!!!

I agree, it look s better in person than in any photos or models (Diecast) I've seen. Checked out a traditional "Italian" (Corsa?) red one a couple weeks ago, it did look good, but that's a lot of red in one place... - Mark

I, too, lament not having a Maranello in kit form, but I'll be glad to have the Scaglietti. As with many new designs, sometimes it takes a while to completely warm up to one. I like the Scaglietti now, but I expect I'll like it more later.

I fail to be inspired by this new Ferrari...the first new Ferrari since the Mondial or 308GT4 that has failed to inspire me. I've seen it in the flesh, yes I was more impressed in person but I have to say it didn't inspire me...it's much too long and the styling/details are watered down and completely lack any sex appeal that's usually part of Ferrari's DNA. The ride height, wheel opening size vs. wheel size, and the melted look of the back end make me think whoever designed it got bored halfway through. I was spoiled by a CGI of the car that looked so damned good, all the same styling elements as the 612 but it had a much more aggressive attitude and demeanor. This one looks like it's trying too hard to convince a Bentley buyer to get a Ferrari. I'll get the kit and make it look like it's supposed to look. :evillol:

The 360 Modena didn't look great in pictures, a bunch of us were all calling it an Eclipse clone before we saw it in real life. I happened upon one of the first 360's in the US while out on my motorcycle, and WOW...what a huge relief it was that the car looked so good in person vs. pictures. From then on, no warming up necessary. Sadly, the Scaglietti isn't on the same page...it's not photogenic, but it's not a stunner in real life either-it has presence, and the front end is cool, but they lose it in the incredibly long body that ends in a whimper at the back. The Japanese designer Ken Okuyama (or whatever his name is) at Ferrari hasn't exactly inspired me w/his designs or design approach. I cringe to think what might happen w/the Maranello replacement. The test mules all look like shortened Scagliettis. I will not be happy if it looks anything like the Scaglietti.

Actually it's the same size as the 456, they just stretched the wheelbase 13".

and we can use its engine and drivetrain to detail and enhance any 456 or 550 Bburago kit...
I know, these are die cast kits, but what else can we do???

All the best, Marc

Let's be honest now - C6 and Mustang are hardly comparable to a Ferrari!

Scaglietti has been reviewed as an awesome tourer!

Looks like a great kit, shame about the car though.

I don't like the looks of the Ferrari 612 also, IMO the last beautiful Ferrari was the 348tb.

Even though this kit won't be seen in my house, I still think it's great that such a new car is (almost) available as a kit. The manufacturers still like us, I guess ;)

*Hyperkinetic prays silently for more 1/24 releases (new and oldschool cars)
