Chased by an RS6

I was driving home saturday night after a long day of work (the firm loves to make Co op students work hours they would never touch!) in the Legacy doin about 110km in a 90. I look behind and I see a weird looking Audi drive by and I see its an RS6...Now im just in awe of this thing and almost crash the car while watching it...I was in the left lane and the RS6 had no room so he drops in behind me... Seeing this as an amazing chance to see an RS6 at work I drop down to 4th (car really needs a 6-speed) and let fly! I get up to about 150km and the RS6 is right still right on my rear end...I start bobbing and weaving through traffic (sat night, pretty light traffic) as this RS6 is keeping right with me...After a few kms of this I guess he started to get bored and when the Highway opened up to 5 lanes he pulls into another lane and pulled by me easily...I push the car to try to keep up but Im not even close as he just flies buy not to be seen again...
I couldnt believe I saw that car, and it was awesome to see just a bit of what it can do

Was it the RS6 or the RS6 Avant? Either way, 450 hp and twin turbos...gotta love it.

Weaving through traffic was stupid. RS6s are just beautiful cars, I'd take one over an M3/M5.

Even the 2006 M5? With that 507 horsepower, 10 cylinder, normally-aspirated goodness? I dunno, I think BMW just raised the bar once again, as far as 4-door rockets are concerned...I'd take either one though, hell I'd take a 1991 M5 if I could.

normally-aspirated goodness?.
You mean Naturally Aspirated, as in it only drinks Aspirin with Natural ingredients!
Yah, I've only seen one RS6 before but it was at an auto show, yet to see one move.....*drool*. And I barely like any DTM cars.......*drool some more*

Well the new ones aren't out yet. Audi said they're not going that route anyway.
Plus, the new benz CLS55 AMG was barely slower than the new M5 only because it's a lot heavier (had a lot more options) and still got better reviews by the Germans, so that's the one I'd take if I had the money. :iceslolan

i've heard both terms used by people in the auto industry for N/A. they're interchangable.
a member at my old job(private golf course) owns an RS6. it sounded awesome at startup, had a nice v8 grumble to it and sounded really awesome as the turbo began to spool. too bad i only got to hear it as he drove off. Street racer, you sure they're Twin Turbo? i thought it was a single.

It was an Avant, which originally made me question what it was exactly, till i saw the lil RS6 emblem...and I know driving that fast was realy stupid on the highway...I couldnt help myself, and I dont normally do that stuff
and its definately a TT...as for the rumble, I turned off my radio and lowered the window when he passed so I could get a listen...

Had an RS6 at the track last year, ran 12.5's all day on street tires :) I think he only changed the exhaust. Oh, and they're definitely TT's.
I saw somewhere the new M5 is supposed to run 13.0??? Is that right?

I don't know, but when those Germans tested it, it ran from 0-125 mph in about 14.8 seconds.

New ///M5s are probably a lower 12 second car. I've seen the E39s test at low 12ish, so it wouldn't make sense to make it slower. I still want my ///M3. Sure, the Audi can beat it around a track based on handling...but is it as fun to drive?

When has an E39 M5 ever ran a low 12? You must mean low 13s.
I would think the new ones would be high to mid 12s.

lol driftkid...we are all talking about M5s and RS6s and he's all "I thought the legacy had a 5-speed automatic"...haha at least he was sticking on topic...Cassiesman, I don't think the RS6 is a better handler than the M5, because of the extra weight and extra understeer brought on by AWD...I read a comparo between the two awhile back, but I can't remember any of it for the life of me.

I was comparing it to the ///M3, becuase I was thinking off that TOp Gear episode where they compared the ///M3 and the S4...then I realized half way through I was typing it wrong, and I just never went back and edited it...Byt yeah, I would think the ///M5, even though it doesn't have RWD, would be the better handler of the two. The 'which is more fun to drive' comment came from Clarkson.

Since when isn't the M5 RWD? I'd think the M3 would be easier to drive around the track than the M5 since it's lighter.
The S4 beat the M3 around that track in the top gear video by a second, so I'm guessing the RS6 would be able to at least do the same.

My bad, fast typing, plus I just got out of British History...you would think that hearing a British guy talk for an hour and a half would wake you up...Thats what I was trying to say is that the AWD would put the RS6 through faster.

An hour and a half of brit. history would put me in a coma...try 3 hours of pre-civil war american history, that's not too fun either.
