Bosch Platinum +4 Spark Plugs

:sunglasse Well guys, I was wondering of geting new sparkplugs for my car, I've heard that these ones, Bosch Platinum +4 are great to use, in terms of it's overall quality.

:rolleyes: Have any of you used these spark plugs and how are they? I hear they provide smoother acceleration and some increase in fuel efficiency.

I had Bosch +4's in mine...and I took them out the next day. I felt much more "seat of the pants" with the ACDelco's Rapidfires. Now, anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but the way it was explained to me is that ACDelco's are speciffically designed for GM's, Motorcraft are for Fords, and Bosch is geared more towards your German and Asian imports. May or may not be true, but I stand behind my RapidFires :)

Yea, your best bet is to stay with the Delcos...

I'm looking to go back to a domestic plug for my Z, and yes I've heard the same thing that certain engines like specific plugs. Say, do they offer those ACD rapids in platinum or iridium? Also, whats the heat rating on them?? I've recently heard that my engine tends to like "cooler" rated plugs as opposed to hotter plugs... I just want something CLEAN - the NGK TR55's I tried this summer are such dirty plugs.

My ACDelco Rapidfires are platinum, but at the time I was doing the research, ACDelco wasnt offering Iridium plugs, at least not for my 3rg Gen. No idea on the heat rating tho, sorry :(

Ive sit by and watched engines break because bosch platnum plugs.They made the platinum plus 4 to keep the ceramic center from coming out of the plug and lodging itself in a valve.Ive rebuilt a 350 because of that,and a friend of mine works for hinton refrigeration,and his brand new service truck didnt survive its first tune-up,cause they put in bosch plugs.The plug came apart,and bent a valve in one engine,completely broke the valve in another.Of corse you could imagine what shape the combustion chamber was in..It messed up the entire motor.The center ceramic piece in the platinum plugs are all defective in my opinion.
Its always a safe bet to stick with the factory recommended spark plugs.
A spark is a spark,if you have a clean mixture,it shouldnt make much difference.Heat range,and physical durability are whats important

Stick with AC Delcs, Got em in my 96 firebird. I wouldnt let my bird touch bosch or NGK with a 10 foot pole. Those were mostly manufactured for imports and working at an autoparts store I talk to a lot of F-Body owners and they all agree the Delcos r king.

How about Accel plugs? I was looking at picking up these for my bird.

I've been told that with the platinum delcos the pucks fall out of them very easily, I've heard this from atleast half a dozen people. Never heard anything bad about the regular delcos tho or the NGK plugs which seem to be recomended alot on some of the f-body boards. My car currently has bosch +4s in it (were in the car when I bought it a year ago and they didn't look new then) and it's ok so far, changing them is such a pita that I might just leave em in there for a while.
