Engine Question?

Hi, i was wondering if it was possible to swap heads on a 1988-91 prelude because they have B20A5 or B21A1 (b-series?) engines. These are sohc, but i was wondering if those good dohc type R heads would work with these bottom ends. Im guessing it has to be hard because i have never read anyone doing this, and if they do make a b20 type r head combo, it is with the B20's in the CRV. What makes it so hard?

Negative. No other B series heads will fit on our 88-91 motors. There is one guy that I know that fabricated a vtec head to work. It was for sale a few weeks ago for like 400 or so. i will get the info and post it

that makes me think for a sec.... would i be able to swap the head from my current b21a1 to the b20a5 that im buying? if so, would there be any advantages for doing this? just a thought...

just to let u know...Si 3rdGen's 88-89 2.0 B20's , Si 3rd Gen's 90-91 2.0 B20's and 2.1 B21a R twin cam..DOHC "dual over head camshaft"
cause I seem to think...u think that there "single cam"
but about ur question i'm not sure..tho I have heard that some B-Series parts will fit in other B-Series engines...NOT SURE THO

yea i do know that the b21a1 (which is the motor thats in my prelude right now) is DOHC, and if im not mistaken, the B20A5 that im gonna put in place of the b21 is single cam... in which case my question would still be can i put my dohc b21 head on the b20a5 even tho that had been single cam? my reasoning behind such a swap is simply thinking that somehow the dohc might give the b20a5 a lil bit more power? i could be wrong but its just a thought. lemme know your thoughts on this point of view, thnx

Go to www.preludepower.com . Im not sure if you can swap heads from a single to DOHC. They will definitly know there
