Hey everyone, im just trying to learn porsches since I worship them (Ferdinant Porsche is my god). I am interested in 944 turbo, like the design, good handling, Porsche.
Are there any good websites that have a big variety of aftermarket suspension/drivetrain/performance parts? I found coilovers, strut bars, turbo, crankshaft and that about it. Also wanted to ask are there aftermarket LSD for the 951/944?
Does anyone have pictures of 944 underneath? (wondering how it looks from there)
And my last question: could somebody please tell me about the stock turbo setup on 951.

All of these questions are the ones I could not find the answer to. There is so little tech articles on these cars.
Thank you in advance.

Edit: Just found this http://www.pelicanparts.com/944/944_parts/944_83-85.htm

hi,

very briefly (and off the top of my head):

turbo used is a kkk but not sure which one. the only difference between a series one and series two 944 turbo is the size of the turbo. a series one (ROW) is 220bhp and a series two (again ROW) is 250bhp. both have intercoolers. i don't know what the US power figures are.

re suspension, see if you can find a turbo with the m030 (aka sports chassis) option. it will give you as standard koni yellows, brembo 4 pot callipers all the way round with 13" brake disks (rotors for the Americans) with slightly lower ride height than normal and also stiffer springs and anti roll-bars.

an lsd was a very common option on the turbo.

hth,
jules.

Thank you for the answer, what about rear mounted transmisssion? Is 944 like normal RWD car? (tranny->driveshaft->rear diff with or w/o lsd)
And what are good websites where you can purchase maybe a T3/T4 kit, or a big front mound intercooler etc.

in order to get a near perfect 50:50 front to rear weight distribution, the gearbox is at the rear of the car.

engine - prop shaft - gearbox - diff - half shafts / driveshafts

the 951 came with a kkk k26 #6 i think, and the turbo S model came with a k26 #8 also there was a turbo cup model that came with a k27. i'm in the middle of a turbo upgrade myself so if anyone has any more info, please post. i found a shop in texas that will rebuild my center section and install a k27 compressor housing and compressor wheel for $750-$795 any advice would help.
