fuel problems after pump change!!!!!!!!

i pulled the tank and i poured out about 2 gallons of black gas that didnt smell like gas at all. cleaned tank and replaced fuel pump with new one. changed fuel filter at the same time now im not getting gas to the engine pushed in on shrader valve not one drop of gas or pressure. i can hear the pump running. i also replaced the pulsator. what could i have done wrong? i got the car for 800.00 because the owner couldnt get it to start. everything is working properly just no fuel to the motor. maybe a fuel line change? please give some advice. ive only got so much money and would love to get it going.

yea, i'd say change the lines, sounds like someone put something in the tank other than gas and it gummed up somewhere in the lines past the filter.
