start problem

I have a really odd and confusing question. I have a 99 chevy cavalier with a 2.2l automatic trans combo. The question is this the car will start up some times and then sometimes not. When it doesn't start up I will put the key in and go from the off position to start position in an instant. Usually that will get it to start. When it is running, it does it perfect without a miss. I have changed the starter solenoid and had the starter tested and still has the same problem. Is the computer in the loop? Should I have that checked or changed. The other question is When it does start up the odometer will reset at 29343 everytime. The battery is brand new and has a full charge and I have a full charge everytime I start up. So the altinator is working right. I have never had to deal with an electronic odometer. It's nice because I have such low milage. HA HA. But was wondering if it has anything to do with the starting problem? Thanks all

Get to your dealer and run an electrical diagnostic, bud. Either a sensor or your CPU has a problem, presuming once you get the start, it runs fine.
