short circuit

I have an 1989 Caprice and have a couple of questions about a ckt. The fuse blew twice and there was a burning smell the second time. Im assuming a short circuit somewhere in the ckt. On the fuse block the ckt is labeled as cktsys-clk or something similar. So far I've found it controls the dome light, horn, clock (therefore radio doesnt work), and power locks. Does anyone know what else this ckt controls or where I can find that info. Also is there any easy way to find a short besides ripping the dash apart and finding the bare wire? And im trying to get the radio out as well. Do the heater controls separate from the radio or is it all one piece and you have to unhook the stuff from behind? Thanks for any help.

my e-mail is [email protected]. thanks for the help. i think it may be a bad radio or something else with constant power as the fuse blew while the car was off and while it was on.

Yesterday, I pulled the cigarette lighter apart and have left it unhooked. The fuse hasn't blown since, so it must have been something with that. Thanks for the help.

It may be toolate for this thread, but does anyone have a elctrical diagram for a 92 caprice wagon? the car just quit, not getting gas and the diagnostics won't read.....

someone suggested the wire from the battery rund the fuel and the diagnostics, but need toknow where or how to look for a short. thanks
