tire wear

ok correct me if im wrong but if my rear tires where wearing faster...much much faster on the inside then the outside then all i would need would be like the jic magic rear adjustable upper control arms right????? just wanted to make sure that they wouldnt make my tires rub on the top inner edge of my rear fenders. thanks for your input http://www.hopupracing.com/jicmarecaadu.html these are the ones i had in mind

Yes. You should be able to run like 4degrees of camber and still not see signs of uneven tire wear IIRC. Maybe not ideal for the backs, but for the fronts yes.

Definately get some kind of camber correction kit.

I thought it was always lower in the front, and dude, with a .7 drop with the Pro-Kit they say you'll get uneven tire wear, I seriously doubt you can go 4 degrees.

i agree with that ^ but the tire wear with the .7" drop is minimal.. with something like a 2" drop, its more dramatic..

i'm gonna need a kit when my suspension goes on too.. i don't wanna fuck up my new tires.. and the drop is normally more in the front.. i'm not sure why but thats the trend i've noticed in lowering springs..

Toe is whats killing the tires. the camber is just helping it along... I dunno how much adjustment the stockers have but 2 degrees of camber worth of toe should be fixable.

Theres a guy where I live that just got some KTS coils and hasnt gotten an alignment theres a good 3 degrees of TOE!!1. Its funny because you can see it just looking at it.

Yea I wouldn't mess with toe too much unless its not a street car.

3 degrees in the front or back? I hear the back has more influence than the front when it comes to toe.

I know a couple of Autox guys on one of my local forums are running like 4 degrees of camber on the street everyday with no tire wear problems. They obvoiusly use camber kits.

sorry jsut have to ask a couple retard questions. Whats a camber, whats toe. I think i know and have a good idea but throw me some info.

Camber is when the top or bottom of the wheel is sticking out. And toe is when the front or back of the wheel is sticking out.

if you're looking at wheels with negative camber from the front or back of the car, they look like this:

each bit of movement from vertical is represented by a degree of camber..

to understand toe, picture the front wheels not rolling straight but towards eachother.. look at someone who's pigeon-toed and its the same idea but for tires

when i installed my coils i never got an alignment. Turned out i was running about -2.5 deg of camber all the way around. Wore the insides of my tires out. Sucked big donkey schlong because they still had good tread but the damn wires were showing. So i had to spend an unexpected 600 on tires. Gay!!
