95 Jetta clutch peddle on the floor

while switching gears the clutch peddle hit the floor and stayed there.

Replaced the clutch cable, still no dice peddle still on the floor.

Is there a return spring on the peddle? or maybe the clutch is bad?

Yo! I had the same EXACT problem. It is not the cable. It is the...Throw out bearing / clutch release arm. I had a repair shop do it for $260. You can still drive it without the clutch, though.

Any word yet on the repair?
