I just purchased a 1992 grand am. 3300. The ignition switch has already been removed. I found a used one from a wreckers. The wreckers have no idea how to remove it. Does anyone know how this is done. So I can go and remove it myself. The steering has already been removed. Is there some trick to removing the switch. Please if anyone has any input on this is would be great. I am kinda stuck for driving till I can get this replaced.
Thanks In Advance

Before I go into this I just want to let you know that a Haynes manual will have more detail than I can probably provide.
Firstly: You have the steering wheel off, correct?
You should see a retaining clip in the center under a bolt, this clip however is held in by a load of spring under it. More than likely you are going to need to purchase/borrow a steering wheel puller at a local auto store (around $10). This pushes down on that spring/plate the spring pushes on so you can easily remove the clip. After that its usually a series of 10mm bolts your way down to the two bolts holding the ignition in. Its about a 40 min project that is fairly easy, but just take your time. Hope this leads you in the right direction.
