ohhh kay it's 3:13 a.m. here and I'm up starting at my computer screen tired as hell. I just was dozing off and out of the corner of my eye I see something on my pillow..I jump out and turn on the lamp and guess what it is- a fucking black widow 2 inches from my face. So I got the bastard but now I'm to freaked out to go back to bed..I've always had a phobia of spiders but I've never seen a fucking black widow in my house. Time to call the ol' bug sprayer man I guess...Just posting it up here cause I have nothing else to do...damn spiders. ;;shivers;;

Damn, you sure it was a black widow? That would've really sucked if it wouldda got ya. I hate spiders too man, if I had one on my pillow like that, I would'nt be going back to bed =P

i hate spiders and all we have here are the nonpoisonous kind. i'd pee my pants if i saw a black widow especially on my bed!!

we found a crap load of those in an old set of rims we had laying around last summer. thank the honda gods we didn't put our hands on any when picking up the rims..... i had no clue there were black widows in Oregon.

i used to have a phobia for spiders, until i moved from CA to OR. there are 50times more spiders here than there. also get a good cat, or two, maybe 3 if you don't like mice and move to OR.

we got everything here, even scorpions. At my friends house we lift weights 3 times a week in the basement, well one day were sitting there and im gettin ready to start benching and my friend is spotting me. I look up and see a black widow like coming down on web string right onto my friends shoulder. So i jump up and smack the MFer and we look at the wall behind him and there are like 4 or 5 adults on the wall and a bunch of babies. So we ran outta there and got a big thing of bug killer ans sprayed the whole room. We didnt lift for like a week.

At work one day I was putting my hand into the skimmer for a pool to pull out the basket and one of them damn water spiders ran up my arm and im my shirt, and I freaked out and ripping my shirt off and I ran really far away and the homeowner saw me and laughed at me.....i didnt find it very funny.

lol ladnredsi, I have a cat but he's like 20 pounds and almost 19 years old and he doesn't move to much he just sleeps all day. :/

we now have 2 cats. my cat = teh worthless. no coordination. if she spots a spider she'll merely zone out on it. the other cat is my daughter's cat. her name is jewels. i now call her the "jewlminator" as she was bringing home 2+ birds a week during the summer. YUCK.

I love cats though, they can be so funny. When my cat munchy dies someday ( :( ) I'll probably get another one. They are my favorite animal...I'de never own a dog, sick. (no offense k9 owners)

hawaii doesnt have black widows, or at least i havent seen one here. but my mom showed me one when i went up to cali. pretty freaky. so im all freaked out after i saw that, i didnt want to go sleep that night, then they got me american chopper black widow pants. im like fuck, gurantee im not going to be sleeping that night. i was freaked for the rest of the trip at night

Black Widow? Pfft. Come live in a continent that is populated by the deadliest spiders in the world and you might get some sympathy.

Not to mention some of the ugliest =) I hate Aussie huntsman spiders - others are deadly - these fuckers are just ugly and have me reaching for the spray can - to beat the shit out of them

You know that unless you are a very young child or a very old person, a black widow won't do too much except make you feel like you have a bad cold for awhile.

I had to clean the warehouse and work where there were a bunch of them so i did some research before actually cleaning that shit up, and as long as you are healthy and not extremely young or old, you basicly get cramps for a few hours and then feel fine.

one of the first times i spent the day at my hubby's apartment i was tidying up the kitchen while he was away at work. i lifted up this clear plastic container on the microwave to clean under it, and as i set it back down i looked at what was in it... it was a huge tarantula (or the skin of it anyway but i didn't know). i freaked out so bad. i hurled it across the room and it's little hairy hollow legs all broke off. UGH! needless to say, we disposed of that when he got home.

Shit, in florida, we really have everything. My dad lived in this one house that had frickin huge scorpions everywhere. We would spray the outside of his porch like once a week, and there would be at least 3 big ass dead scorpions the next couple of days. God those suckers are nasty!!

This is sad, you all are afraid of spiders. They're just like mice, why the heck would you be afraid of them. They're small and harmless.........that is if you don't annoy them or swat at them in anyway. I live in the south were there are loads of them around my house and I've always been told that if you don't bother them, they won't bother you. Simple as that.

But still, i don't think a black widow is going to attack you for the hell of it. It will only bite you if you do sometime to it and survives. That means you walk away and then kill it before it attacks ya.
