LOS ANGELES - She's been surrounded by celebrity just about all of her life, but Jamie Lynn Spears would have you believe she's just another teenager blown away by the fact she gets to travel to Los Angeles to make TV shows, and they sometimes let her keep the clothes she wears on set. But then Britney Spears' kid sister, still kidlike and disarmingly polite at 13, makes a pretty good case for her innocence when she recounts her reaction to learning she would be starring in her own TV show.

"I thought, `Oh my gosh, that would be so cool!'" she recalls thinking when veteran TV producer Dan Schneider told her one day over lunch that he wanted to take her out of the ensemble cast of the children's variety show "All That" and put her in the spotlight.

"So we started talking about stuff and we came up with all of these — all of these ideas — and he wrote something," says Jamie Lynn, still sounding fascinated by the process.

The result, "Zoey 101," airs 8 p.m. EST Sundays on Nickelodeon.



Why Britnay's sister? I don't know, but I bet it's to raise views because it's "Britany's Sister". Now, "Britany's sister" will have to live up for the rest of her life, known as "Britany's Sister", not "Jamie Spears". Sorta like Ashlee Simpsons is more famous for being "Jessica's Sister", and Hillary Duff's, sister etc.

One of the DJ's at our local radio station is constantly poking fun at Jessica Simpson. He got me laughing one day when he said that Jessica always has this look on her face like she just tasted something bad. Everytime I see her on tv now, that is what comes to mind.

Whats the big deal? Let her have her little show on Nickolodean. Its not like it will be bumping off a show on the same network that you liked watching.

Why do I get the impression that those making the biggest hoo-haa about Jamie's TV show will be the ones creating threads on forums in 5 years going "Like OMG Jamie Spears is 18, I can now tap dat shit y0!" The same thing happened with the Olsens, those that bad mouthed them the most vocally were the ones that were the most enthusiastic about thier 18th birthday.


Not saying I particuarly like anything to do with her or her quasi-trailer trash older sister, but the irony is usually pretty amusing. Far as I'm concerned she can have her own show, it's not like I watch Nickelodeon, so it doesn't really affect me.
