I have a 2000 2.2 Cavy and am getting 240-260 miles a tank. WHat should i be getting? Would a new fuel pump get me better gas mileage?

I'd say it was low but a fuel pump will only help if the currnt one is faulty. It's more likely to be to do with your induction although some fuel line cleaner wont hurt. Check you intake for leaves or similar, if your air filter is old and dirty then replace it, when you check the intake look into your throttle body to see if it is dirty.

I'm having the same problem right now. I have a 2000 2.2l and I'm getting like 500km per tank. I think my flex pipe has a small hole in it because it rattles when a release the clutch at low rpm. Could having a hole in the flex pipe have and effect on fuel consumption. What is the normal fuel consumtion per tank in a Cavalier?

My 97 2.4 gets about 26 on the highway, better than my pickup, but not by much. 91 F150 with 18 highway.

Mine is terrible...uhhh...i think as of right now i have only 170miles since the last fill up and i'm at a little above 1/4 tank... I think the reason is because its winter and you car adds more fuel to the cylander due to the denser air... DAMN INTAKES... lol.... Also i drive about 30 miles a day of which maybe 15 are highway and the other are stop and go, stop and go.. so that could be the reason. Before winter arrived.. i was pulling somthing like 225 miles at 1/2 tank... but for some reason my city milage is extremly shitty...

What do you suggest I use to clean the fuel injectors and lines?

Would a small leak in the flex pipe have a big effect on fuel consumption?
