i want to build a nice little hybrid. Right now i am thinking a gen 4 but maybe a gen 5 with a gsr swap a supercharger and to top it off a 50 shot of nos. what would be the restrictions as far as years for the engine and the car? what year gsr would a gen 5 take etc. and is the gsr the best candidate if i am on a budget and care more about straight line accelleration than handling?

Well this could be tough and pretty long. I think a 5th gen hatch with either the B16A(SiR) motor or the B18C1(GSR) motor would be pretty nice. i would recommend turboing it rather than supercharger but that's just my opinion. The car will handle good with either motor...it's not real heavy. Get yourself some coilovers with some nice shocks and drop it so you can have better handling and think about some strut bars and tie bars also. As for the restrictions, you must have the same year motor or newer as the car. (Ex: 94 Civic.. get a 94+ GSR motor) If your looking into that then make sure you get a hydraulic transmission if you are getting a 5th gen and a Cable for the 4th gen. Decide what gen you want first and then i can help you better decide which motor you want.:D Sorry so long.
