I'm having a problem with my transmission so I decided to change the Filter and the Modulator valve. My question is, where is the Modulator Valve located and how do I remove it. When I remove it, will some fluid pour out too, because I was going to changed the fluid/filter first to see if the problem goes away.

maybe you can tell us what the tranny is doing...........
I have never changed a mod valve so I can't answer your original question

Your profile shows that you have a Mustang. Perhaps you should post in the Ford section. btw, on a Mustang it is on the side of the tranny. It has a vacuum line connected to it. Good Luck.

Looks like I forgot to change the profile.
I found the part and got it on but it didn't solve the problem, there the story:
The problem is my transmission doesn't shift. It does into gear but when I take off it gets to about 30-35 mph and just keeps reving up and doesn't shift, this happens in Overdrive, Drive, and 2. The problem first happened last Saturday and happened all at once. My transmission was working perfect then it just started taking longer to shift and about 10 mins later, it wouldn't shift out of 1st. I had to get the car towed home. Today I changed the Valve modulator and the transmission oil and filter and the problem still happens.
Should I go ahead and get it rebuilt?

If you have high mileage.....changed the Modulator Valve, fluid and filter, there's not alot more you can do. Make sure a vacuum hose has not come loose. It shifts by vacuum doesn't it?
