has anyone ever had their ECS controller fry??? I opened the box and one of the capacitors had cooked. will the tour\sport mode light stay on if the box is disconnected???

You mean the box in the trunk...if you disconnect the wiring harness from the bottom of the box, the ECS will be disabled and the light will stop flashing.

the light never flashed.when i would push the button the tour\sport mode light wouldnt do anything so i removed the controller out of the trunk and opened it. one of the blue capacitors had burnt, i assume thats why the light never flashed. so i removed the box and im tryin to find out how it happened before i buy another controller.

For what it is worth, I would try to replace the fried cap before I bought a new box. Caps are generally cheap and the soldering should be easy enough. I make my living doing this type of thing so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
