yes, you have to put the sensor somewhere near the air filter, so it senses the air being sucked into the filter. most people drill into the top of the filter and put it in there.

not that i know of. just take that aluminum, or whatever that silver piece is, and drill into it. not that hard.

Not that this intake is bad. It is actually one of the nicer intakes I have seen for sale on eBay. Especially the price. That is great! I would buy it if I did not have a $tillen/K&N intake already. I have had mine for over 7 years now.
But, don't you guys think it would cause unwanted blockage or turbulence as the air passes through the intake path. The Filter is 6.5" in diameter (from memory), yet the hole is an edged circle approx. 3" in diameter. Seems as if the air would bounce against the plate and fight its way through the hole.

Jim Wolf design - same as Stillen:

The reason the JWT and Stillen intakes are so good is because the intake plate adapter is concave and allows the air to flow smoothly into the MAF. It uses the same size K&N as the eBay one, but the plate is designed better. This was because the Nissan/Infiniti MAF rely heavily on the intake air and how it passes through the MAF sensor to get the proper readings.
Just my observation.
