95 Explorer questions?

Hi guys,
The keyless entry key pad on the side of my Explorer will not light. I bought this used, is there anyway to fix it or am I just stuck? Also the fan switch is either high or off - same question, and the front Dome lights are out, are these common problems with this year/model? Also when I drive I hear a reocurring noise, almost like ruts cut in the road before a train track or stop - just not as loud, is this normal? Lastly, the Auto air ride system, is it ok to turn it off? I have the Limited 4X4 model.
