Just wondering if anyone has used the energy suspension motor mount inserts for the torque mounts. did they work good or was there no difference? i got some but havent had time or good weather to install em yet. just wondering if you guys have tips on it

There really easy to put in just follow the instuctions. Do they help YES alot less motor movemnet but the down fall is the motor is really stiff. It feels like you welded the mount to the block "vibration" is the only bad thing I guess. I like the feel but thats me.

Well in my case not to sure, may spin the tires faster than without them. Its hard getting the power to the ground well atleast getting the tires hooked up with out spining. Damn turbos LOL

Im happy with mine. like Cjz said, the only downfall is the vibrations. Its not too bad but noticeably different. I just broke my transmission mount though so my motor is all over the place.

well hopefully the vibrations wont be that bad but if they are then oh well, i just need to tighten it up a bit because theres a fair bit of movement with the motor

It will make your car feel "alive".
I'd go without them though. I know with my mounts they're an almost solid polyurethane and it kinda ruins the drivability of it every day. Vibrating makes me crazy, but it makes the car very cool to drive sometimes. :p

Here's a post I found on HT about it, the guy uses a piece of hose instead of the inserts, he gets the same effect of having the poly motor mounts without any of the vibration

I'm glad this post is up.. I need some help as well. Or suggestions anyways. I have a JDM H22A in my crx and the rear motor mount needs replacing. What should I look for? This one has been given extremely high compression which makes it very very torqued. Should i try to find a certain mount.. I was reading about that mount were talking about in this post, and i'm afraid with my small car and big motor, the vibrations will drive me nuts.

Hmm... in the vids from the Honda-Tech link, it almost looks like the after filling with the rubber hose made the engine move more but IDK. I get wheel hop sometimes too and my front mount is useless, but the solution is slip the clutch don't dump it.

yea i get wheel hop too, kinda the main reason i bought the inserts, i wanna get some of that poly glue and do my sides as well, but hey, for 25 bucks canadian for the front and rear inserts, cant really go wrong :)

Totally not worth it in my own opinion
I currently am getting my taken out and full new mounts put in cause the vibrations just plain out sucked. Starting the car up when it was cold was like starting up a tractor, it just plain stinks. I can't wait to get those things outta there. But here's what I've come up with.
Get them if you want the engine to be stiff with no movement what so ever. And have a solid drive.
But do not get them if you can't stand vibrations every single time you drive that car. Also don't get them if it's a daily driver cause it'll eventually get to you. It did me, cause I just want a normal, un-vibrating civic like it used to be.

One of the main reasons I can't drive my car in the winter anymore. Being Canadian, having a car that feels like that when its minus thirty celcius, add in all the things that rattle and vibrate in a 14 year old car, and you have one grumpy me.
I often dream of having stock mounts on my B16 so I could enjoy it all the time.
But the plus side is, when its nice out and the windows are down it like having a real go-kart.
