Hello everyone,
I am the proud new owner of a 2000 Lincoln LS, V6 auto. I absolutely love the car, though I do wish it had more storage space inside the cabin.
Anyway, I have this problem when I set my lights on automatic, where they just flicker on and off from dims to brights randomly. I have tried adjusting the timer and I have tried checking for interference with the photo cell, but I don't see anything wrong...anyone else dealt with this?
Also, what is the little hook thing for that pops off of the glovebox latch? Just curious...a friend of mine said it was for a litter bag...
Thanks,
Mike

so the lights aren't turning on and off rather they are cycling from Bright to dim and back again?
The latch is for a bag but I hang my umbrella there on rainy days.

Yes, that is correct, they keep cycling from dims to brights.

When you say you set them to auto are you speaking of the rotary switch to the left of the steering wheel.
I might have to read the owners manual as I am not familiar with the LSs ability to auto dim/bright. I thought that switch was merely for the purpose of tuning on and off.
It could be that the sensor in the windshield has some debris in it. Has the windwhield been replaced?

yes, the 2000 LS v6 model with the woodgrain steering wheel and gear shift has automatic headlights. No, the windshield has never been replaced..
Thanks,
Mike
