On my 97 Z28 automatic, are the stock brakes enough, and or what else should I do to the chassis before building big horsepower? Subframe connectors? Rearend? Beefier trans or build up the one thats stock? After the engine build we want to be in the mid 11's. Thanks Ron

Subframe connectors are a good idea for sure. You could beef up the tranny with a shift kit and a better oil cooler. Im not sure how much torque those rear ends will take but you may be ok with it.

SFC's (sub frame connectors) are a MUST for big HP. then the trans AND rearend. When the Firehawks were made, one of the first things SLP did was replace the weak stock rearend.
Next would be the rest of the suspension, panhard rod, trailing arms etc. The stock brakes should do just fine.

Well it depends on how much hp we are talkin about, but sfc and beefing up the trans is allways a good ideal, then work on the rearend they are stout but anything over 400 hp will trash it with a little hard racing, and it is allways a good ideal to upgrade the brakes if you are adding major hp if you want to be able to stop it faster that is.

You definitely need to get rid of that 10 bolt rearend.
