Head Gasket

I have a friend that has a blown head gasket in his Catera. Does anyone have any Catera head gasket experience? Im hoping I can save him some money and do it in a weekend.

Any special parts/tools/tips, anything will help.

Hi, I've only just read your message and I don't know whether I'm too late but does your friends Catera have a 2.0 twin cam ecotec engine? I live in the UK, and have a Vauxhall Omega, which I understand is the same as a Catera. I have just completed a head gasket change on my 2.0 ecotec, and can give you any info you require.

You are correct that your car is built on the same platform, but the Caddy gets a 3.0 L V6. Im not sure where all the engine sees duty. It ended up being a poorly seated oil filter (thats why you do it yourself!). Thanks for the reply though
