Keyless remote help

I am asking for a friend. Her 1994 Park Avenue Ultra's keyless remote is dead. Manually unlocking will cause the car's security system to go off and even starting and driving the vehicle will not make it cease. Her manual is in the car, she lives in a small complex and is loath to set the thing off with no way to disarm it. Can anyone help?

If she manually unlocked the driver's side, and it set off the alarm, she should try manually unlocking the passenger side. Manually unlocking using the key is supposed to disarm the security system, but it seems either the door lock isn't sending the message to the security system computer, or else the computer is bad. This is why she should try unlocking the other door. Other than that, there is nothing she can do without setting off the alarm (to my knowledge).

open the hood, leave the side door open, unplug the battery for 20 minutes or so and put it back, , get into the car, and lock it by using the electric button, not manually, then unlock it using the same button and lock it back.. then have someone test witht he window open, unlocking it with the key.. it should be allright. but the alarm wont work anymore as it will be disabled... the trick to unarm the car is using the switch.. not the mecanical button.. that triggers it..

once unarmed.. just dont arm it anymore.. it will arm when you shut the car off, open the door, and lock it with the electrical button and clocins the door... lock it manually... on all doors.. sorry it has to be tht way..

btw, dsiconnecting the battery for 30 mins or so MAY put it back to normal...

?? Once you open the driver side door with the key and the alarm goes off, all you have to do is to put the ignition key in the ignition and turn it, that should turn off the alarm and start the car.

the alarm is only armed by locking all doors with the remote or by locking all the doors with the power switch on the driver side door.
