Loss of Bass

I recently swapped my Monsoon head unit with a Sony Xplode CD player. I was planning on going all out on a system but something came up and i ran out of money. The thing i noticed most is that when i swapped the factory CD player with the Sony, i lost a INSANE amount of bass. I was wondering if my amp just doesn't like my new CD player or if there is something else wrong. Some guy mentioned i could bypass the amp, making the Sony the sole amp/radio. I don't really know what that means or how to do it. I really like my new Sony but if i can't get my bass back i might just put back the stock head unit until i have a full system. What do you think?

Run the original stereo if it sounds better,and wait for amp and speakers thats compatable with the xplode.
I have a sony xplode 50x4,a supertunerIII,and the stock delco with 5 band eq collecting dust. i tried them all and removed them from the mix cause they sounded like crap up high.Too much distortion and white noise.

Now ive put a factory 2000crown vic stereo wich can play mp3 disks,and has dettachable face security.It sounds bestof the others so far,and has the right outputs to run just about any amplifier.In my case a 1,000 watt kicker amp and some twelves.Mega bass,but still has that factory crown vic clarity up front.
Factory stereos have no idle noises or bad reception.The stereo lights dim out with the rest of the dash lights correctly.
And most importantly people dont try to steal a factory ford stereo with detachable face security.Its useless twice to a common thief.If they can see through my window tint(almost impossible)all they are going to see is a big tall ugly stock stereo with no buttons,and a blinking red light.

The only problem i had with the explode really,was the fact that the cd's kept skipping on bumps.It sounded pretty good,and the displays on those are killer.

What model Sony Xplod do you have? I have the CDX-F5000 that works beautifully and I still get awesome bass. Did you check all your wire connections in the back? They might be loose or you could have some wires crossed and not connected to the right ones.

Well the only way you can go about checking the wires, is if whoever installed the stereo for you also gave you two metal looking key type things. Your supposed to use those to slide down the sides of the stereo so you can pull it out. And from there on out, you can just check the wires and make sure they're all properly connected. If your already lost at this point, then I suggest that you just take it back to whoever installed it for you. They should be able to find out what the problem is. Just let me know if you need any more help.

the outputs of the xplode,and the inputs of your factory amp probably are not compatable.unplug one of the stereos outputs,and see if the other side sounds right with one side unplugged,and try both sides..I bet one or both of the left or right side has the + and - backwards.

factory amps dont like aftermarket stereos,and more than likley the xplode can make as much sound as the amp does.But like i said the aftermarket is going to have more distortion and probably weaker reception.

what year is yer car i can probably send you a wireing diagram for it this will make it "childs play" to install and or bypass the factory amp

hope this helps if not let me know also the factory amp WILL NOT function if the front and rear speakers a connected together or if the "PHASE" (+from radio to + to amp) (not-from stereo to + on amp)is not correct but be carefull had major headache and fryed my factory amp doing mine good luck
