2001 slt cabin filter replacement

Hi all: Can anyone tell me how to access the cabin filters under the dash. everything is covered by a large black kick panel cover. Gm charges 75.00 to change the filters + the cost of filters, any help will be appreciated................Mike

It is located under the passenger side mnear the middle console. It is long like a narrow ruler and has 2 screws in it. It sort of liks like an "L" with a short 1 1/2 inch side and a long maybe 9 inch side.

In the manual it says that there is a screw at the bottom holding the cover, so then once you unscrew that slide the filter down and once that one comes out the second will follow. Hope that this helps....
