Help with performance mods on 97 Z28

I just purchased my 97 Z28 and want to start putting mods on to make it faster. My goal is to get it into the 11's but still have it quite streetable. I am not a pro mechanic, but I can do most anything with directions and a double Starbucks expresso and my friends.
Where should I start with the mods, I have money, and I really like the idea of maybe turbo charging this car cause you don't see or hear about many other turbo'd. I also like supercharging. So, to all of you that has gotten into the 11's with Z28's with LT1, please give me some direction.
The only mod that this car has so far is a K and N air filter, other that that I have a clean slate. Also, are there other sites that I can get info from? Like how to do the MAF and other free mods?
Thanks for your help in advance and oh, by the way, I do have money, but I would like to do this the most inexpensive way possible.

PS I would like mid 11's

Thanks again, Rondogg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the Forum Rondogg and I have a feeling your going to get confused with Korndogg. But 11's is very possible. You just have to decide which route you want to take. There is head Porting/Cam package that can do, Supercharger, NOS, Turbo. The cheaper and safer of the 4 is the Head porting/cam package although a supercharger would be a close second to me. If you give a better idea of which idea you like the best I will try to go into detail a little better of exactly what would need to be done. Good Luck.

Also this is a post I made a while ago about going 11's N/A. Hope it helps http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2318475&postcount=48 .

Thanks for your reply John. I guess the route I would like to take would be #1 reliability #2 cost. Hopefully that answers the question you asked of myself which of those items I prefer. The thing that gets me the most is to have the most bullet proof motor system as possible and I know nothing is 100% because its just a machine. But, out of those items you talked about, which will give the best setup to hedge against breakage.
Thanks again John! Ron

PS I am going to that other post you gave me.

Well all except NOS(which will create more stress from what I have heard). Will create equal stress on crank/rods/pistons when creating the same power. Cost wise and ability of parts to break. N/A is more efficient cause it uses less parts to generate that power so less parts would mean to me less parts to break but then again I am a no power adder unless necessary kind of guy. I have seen turbo and suercharger creat power levels that could not be matched by a N/A engine. So if your looking at hanging with the big you will need to evently use one of the 3 power adders in the future but you will also need a strong N/A engine to start with. So I say go with a head porting cam package and other mods for now and later on look into weither you want a charger or turbo. But just my 2 cents. I am sure other members can shed some more light on your options.
