65 mustang heater not working

I have a 65 mustang coupe with a 1998 .302 5.0 motor in it, also its carbureted. I have replaced the heater core the thermostat and the blower motor. It still blows ice cold air even when the temp gauge is extremely high. Is there a reason for this? To the best of my knowledge it should be working. Can someone tell me where I can find diagrams or pictures online so I can make sure my heater hoses are connected right? Someone sent me a picture of a .289 with the heater hoses going to the water pump and manifold. On my car they go to the water pump and the thermostat housing. Is this correct?

They used different points over the years. It depends on which point on the water pump is used. The stat housing should supply positive flow TO the core. The lower inlet of the water pump would provide negative flow. If you have it in the pump body or near the top it would not be allowing flow.
Try the hoses like the 289 picture. The manifold will be a negative flow area, so that means from the photo you have, the 289 gets positive flow from the pump. We know that the stat housing supplies positive flow. Chances are you have two positive flows.
Try using the pump and manifold since we know that works on the 289. If not, try the stat housing and manifold. That should also work.

Couldn't find a pic, but remebering my wifes old ride...Upper hose on the firewall goes to the lower water pump connection. Lower firewall connection goes to the intake manifold by the radiator hose. The small upper water pump connection is connected to the intake manifold at the t-stat cover with a short angle hose.
I would advise you, however, to get rid of that POS '65 Stang. The '98 transplant engine makes it worthless anyway. I can be there tomorrow morning with a trailer to rid your driveway of that old clunker. :)
