shift knob removal

how do i remove the shifter knob on a 95 firebird automatic?

turn your car off, lift up the emergency brake, and move your shifter to either 1st or 2nd gear. then you'll see a plastic pin on the front underside of the shifter. use some pliers or whatever you have around you, and pull the pin out. the shifter should lift right off then.
