rear seals keep going out! please help?

My dad's '94 3500 Diesel has had the rear seals replaced 4 times in the last few years. They just went out again with little more than a month of use.

Has had them replaced by Chevy dealer, Goodwrench, Les Swab, and another large local brake/tire/drivetrain place.

If anyone has some ideas on how to resolve this once and for all please let me know.

He's been told this has a "floating axel" which may contribute to this, but we have no idea what that means or why it's an excuse for the constant failure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My dad had a half ton once that the axle seals went out on shortly after they were changed and the garage found that one of the axles were bent. I don;t now if this is the situation with your dads truck , but i know that on my dads truck , they did not leak again. Hope this helps.

check the diff breather vent and make it isn't plugged and that the diff isn't overfilled with fluid. Also make sure no burrs where the seal rides
