I was wondering for all you people out there that have the battery in the hatch, what you used to strap it down, and if you have pics that would be cool.

I'm planning on doing this mod next week and just wanted to get an idea. Thx

my battery is in the back.. all i did was drill 2 holes either side of the battery, got the long thread rod, put a nut on the end and threaded it up through the hole so the rods are about an inch higher either side of the battery, then i got a plate and drilled 2 holes to thread the rod through, put it over battery inbetween terminals and bolted it down. Battery doesn't move.. If i knew how to post pics, i would send em to ya

You can click "gallery" at the top, login, then upload the pics, then copy the hyperlink from the pic and paste it into the white box after you click the "add image" button at the top of the new post where the subject is etc.

just be careful. There are specific rules about having your battery in the trunk if you ever plan on taking your car to the track.

make sure you upgrade the positive wire size. i kept it at stock 4 gauge and kept blowing through fuses and starters. because of the length it puts and added stress on your starter. i have 0 gauge flat wire running now with a 60 amp fuse on it. it works perfectly. the added bonus of the 0 gauge is that its flat as hell and wont be noticeable under your carpet. i built a false floor in my trunk and cut a section out for the battery. all you see is the top of the battery and the posts. its very clean looking. the battery itself sits down into a box i made underneath the floor.

i have just 4 gauge wire on mine and i have had no problems yet with it. Be sure to fuse it though if you take the wire through the fire wall and for some reason it cuts through the wire, you don't want to roasting marshmellows cause thats what can happen!!!

Here's mine, I put a disconnect switch on it. I also used the stock tie down.

Not much work at all, about an hour. Really cleans up the engine bay too, easier to run a CAI too.

it makes it so much easier to run a nice sound system because you dont have wires running all over the place and if your like me (0 or 4 gauge for everything thats power) it can get chunky looking.

it depends on what size wire u use, how you mount it. u can go to walmart and get a "1,000 watt" wiring kit for like $25. use the 4 gauge wire to be the positive from the battery to the starter. you now also have two RCA wires, 8 gauge wire plsu other stuff to run multiple amps with. if you are thinking about even just puttin one amp in this may be the cheapest and easiest way to do it.

I agree, that's what I used. Makes it real easy to get all the wires you need.
